Think about it with an open mind Fritz. If you owned a business in Gardner, Montana and tourism was 90% of your income would a wolf or a cow be more important to you. An elk is more important to me so I'll side with the rancher. However locals are pushing for a reduced or even ending the...

    Prairie legacy wilderness

I don't want to mess up this thread so I'll post up some picks on a new thread when I get back. I am not expecting to actually get a wolf, but I'll try. I like the turn this poll is taking.

    Prairie legacy wilderness

I will be headed to some of that Montana high country (9800ft) in a few days to shoot a wolf. We will be a mile or two from Wilderness, but hope that's close enough. I will have to tell locals I'm hunting something else. They don't want their wolves shot. I have to side with ranchers because...

    Caliper vs Hook Style Release

Got back on my phone and the text popped up as if I forgot to post. I hit post and then noticed it did post the first time. This never happens on the computer, but these darn phones makes a guy look stupid sometimes

    Caliper vs Hook Style Release

In another ten years they will go back to caliper and tell us why it's better. Marketing. When they came out with calipers they explained why it eliminated tork. Shoot what feels best to you. They all release so easily the tork is insignificant, but it sells.

    Yellow jackets~

I have done that on winter when it's cold. I can see why you could get away with it any time of year because of the total devastation. Every few years I tear one down in winter and save it. A pinch of wasp nest between powder and ball, or powder and any greased muzzle loader projectile will...

    Exercise Bike??

I have bad knees and the best low impact that I have found is an elliptical. The rehab I went to had two bikes, four treadmills and six ellipticalls. They worked me 80% on the ellipticals. Rehab was for the heart, but I told them I had three knee scopes in the past.

Appendix decided to put a kibosh on my hunting and fishing

I can't believe the small incisions some people have these days. I asked my doctor if it was really necessary to get his head in there. He didn't smile when I asked what kind of axe he used.

Yup, I drove a little four banger that got 28 miles to the gallon. I was running around for less than a penny a mile. Weeellllll for gas anyway.

    Gas price jump

Yup getting there. Maybe already got there. :) I always tell my friends getting old is better than the alternative. I hope I can take camping at 10,000 ft next week. What's the words in that old Johnny Cash song? Pain is nature's way of letting you know you're still alive, or something...

    Gas price jump

Uhh now your making me feel old. I remember .13 a gallon. When I went to NDSU gas in Fargo was .24 a gallon. To keep it in perspective 22 shells were .49 a box and a good job was $2 an hour.

Again I have to deal with your ignorance. I have no idea about the oil numbers. I worked for the biological division, not the water division, not the minerals division, not the ----------. When our office went from the U S Fish and Wildlife to U S Geological Survey most of the work I did was...

So it sounds like these environmental groups are corrupted by big business, not big business corrupted by environmental groups right? At least that is what you presented. It's odd how the word environmental gets tossed around. Some use it to justify what they do, and some use it as a bogy man...

    160,000 Salmon escape

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-atlantic-salmon-20170903-story.html How the heck do fish escape? This type of thing keeps happening. Elk/Red stag cross escaped in Idaho. Deer escape all over the country. People need to get a handle on this before they screw everything up. Wrong...

? I didn't say me, I said we as in hunters and grazers, but as always you crap in the hand that's extended to you. Three days ago as a matter of fact. I normally don't pick up calls that say out of area. I was expecting a call and grabbed it. It was a media poll on Trump and also Heidi H...
