    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

I hunt same as you. Go as far as Aberdeen from Webster. I grew up in Abdn so still have some pals that I hunt with. Haven't hunted river bluffs for years. Dad used to hunt the bluffs on/near Shadehill when I was a kid. Those were some of the original giants. Man, some of those geese were...

    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

I talked to a state trapper several years back. He is up in air a lot for yotes or whatever. He said he can pick out a layout blind really easy when up in the air. Said it's because of their profile. They stand up. However, he said if guys are good they use lower profile blinds, brush them...

    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

Have you tried that in an open field such as a stubble field or bean? - - - Updated - - - You think so? I haven't seen a single hunter in my area using an Aframe. My son and I kill a ton of honkers a year out of the old layouts. Well I will sit in slough edges etc too later. It's getting...

    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

Have been seeing some waterfowl shows where guys use some type of box or wall blind (not bale) in fields instead of layouts. Thinking these would be good for bean fields as often there is no where to hide and layouts stand out too much. Anyone use these, know a brand or kind etc?

slip on butt pad? Come to think of it...I have a benelli nova I shot years ago. Was too short so slid on butt pad. Lights out for years. Hmm...maybe on to something?

    Winchester SX4 vs Franchi

Thanks snow. That is good advice. Maybe I should try that first as it does seem a little short for me. My brother who was a shooter in the military said to take gun and grip it like you are shooting it. Hand around grip, finger on trigger etc but point it up with just that one hand. The...

    Winchester SX4 vs Franchi

Im not cross eyed dominant. All three of these chokes shot very well and dead center of target at 25. I bought the franchi affinity 3 EL which I think stands for Elite. These chokes came with which are suppose to be designed for waterfowl hunters in mind I guess. I'm quite sure it is the...

    Winchester SX4 vs Franchi

Snow...this gun came with 3 after market chokes from Trulock I think? All they say is close, mid, and long. They are extended tubes. I assume similar to imp, mod and full? And actually yes, I was worried about the chokes after shooting so poorly so I patterned them yesterday at about 25 yds...

    Winchester SX4 vs Franchi

Ive been shooting beretta xrema 2s. I have 2 of them. Love them for my waterfowl hunts. Have put a ton a rounds through each especially in goose season. But I guess Im getting old cuz they're starting to feel heavy. I just bought a Franchi affinity 3. Took it goose hunting this weekend...

    20 Gauge

That is a good point SDMF. That's goes back to my first comment..common sense. If buyers just use a little with also a little restraint we may be in a better place.

    20 Gauge

I understand people picking up things when sales. I do. What I don't understand is when some go to a store in a hoarding panic and buy up a shelf. And....keep doing it. There are some out there that have thousands upon thousands of rounds in their safe yet the OPs son can't find a 20g shell...

    20 Gauge

No problem...you obviously need it. Common sense is sure hard to find isn't it?

    20 Gauge

People need to stop hoarding ammo. It's gotten ridiculous. All stores should only allow 2 boxes per caliber a day.

    Duck hunter's beware~

I read an article similar to this. Can't remember where it happened? Iceland or northern CN? Anyway a retriever was returning with a duck from the ocean and was attacked by a sea lion. Think it survived but bad shape.

    broken st. croix rod ?

*update* I got a hold of a customer service fella. I just had to use a hacksaw and cut off piece near handle where it had serial and model number, place in envelope with a check for $55 and mail in. They'll send me a new rod. No questions asked. I think that is pretty square! I guess that is...

    broken st. croix rod ?

So weird happening this morn. Pulled in a nice 24in walleye this morning. As I set net and fish on floor of boat it got to flopping all over. I had set my rod on floor too. The butt sitting on the floor and rod laying up between the windshield. As I was trying to get a hold of the fish if...

    Bigger Walleye Tactics

like size fish generally hang with same size fish schools. So prob not a lot of of 28-30s in a school of 15s. Maybe, but less odds. Most fish I've caught 25-30inches were with other bigger fish. Not necessarily that big but prob not with eaters. I agree also...I have caught a few big ones...
