Boating Etiquette on the Missouri river

I've gotta say that in the 30+ years of almost exclusively fishing the river, I've had very complaints of other peoples fishing etiquette. You just have to get use to the fact that other people will fish close to you. For me it's no big deal. I don't care. There are enough fish out there for...

    ND Otters?

I'm with some others. I wouldn't want to shoot one. Maybe when they're all over the place causing problems. Right now it would be like me shooting one of my dogs. They're too cute and too rare too go after, in my opinion.

    Shooting feral cats (legal?)

I agree with some of the posts on here. Nobody needs to be shooting any cats just because you see them outside of town unless you are the landowner and you think they are causing problems.

    Need help with catching walleye.

So I went out with my brother on Friday evening south of Fox Island. I sat in the back, rather than the front where I normally am so that I could drift over the fish first. The verdict: it may have helped. We each caught one but I did have a couple that got off near the boat and he didn't...

    Need help with catching walleye.

I'll see what happens tonight. Going fishing with him except I'm going to sit downstream to get to the fish first. I'll let you guys know what happens.

    Need help with catching walleye.

Yes, I sit in the front of the boat. He needs a btch to lift the trolling motor. Why do you ask?

    Need help with catching walleye.

When my brother and I go fishing for walleye, he usually out-fishes me 3 to 1. I try act like it's no big deal but it really bothers me. It's gotten to the point where I put on the same jig, move the jig like he does, and fish on the same side of the boat. Still, I get out-fished. I'm...

    1997 Flood

I was just back to Grand Forks two weeks ago. First time since I graduated from UND in 1993. Still the craphole I remember and the roads apparently haven't been fixed since then.

    Keeping Female Walleyes

How many posts have been made by this subject over the years? I'm guessing that if you are on this site, you probably are pretty up-to-date on issues regarding the outdoors. So why is it that year after year that the Game and Fish explain the policy of no slot limits that so many of you have...

    Targeting Drum...any tips?

Are you going to eat the drum? I do. They are pretty good.

How do we forget so easily

For me the sounds of meadowlarks, red-winged blackbirds, and killdeer are the sound of summer. I'm fortunate enough to be able to hear all of those every day even though I live in Bismarck.

1000's Of Salmon To Be Released Into Sakakawea

Nobody has every accused reporters of being a smart bunch. They screw things up all of the time especially when it comes to science kind of stuff.

What the heck is going around!

Three of my kids in Bismarck had influenza A (they were tested) two weeks ago. Two of them took Tamiflu and the symptoms went away within 5 days. The one that didn't still has some problems, mostly stuffed up, etc.

    NDGF

Since this subject was brought up, how hard is it to get a cow moose license? If a person is drawn, how much work does it take to get one? I ask because I was thinking of applying for my daughter who is in high school but she many be busy in the fall depending if she makes the cut for...

Well this is going to get interesting

So do you guys think there is any chance that the Keystone pipeline will go in? I know Trump approved it going forward but I don't believe any large pipeline is going in anywhere in the US or Canada for awhile. I don't think any company will want to invest the money only to find out that...

I suspect they will stay camping on private land and cause problems for awhile. It can't be stated enough - they are a bunch of retards.

Fishing in Blue Plater waters alert.

I agree with slot size and closed seasons. It would make fish grow bigger. Also make Devils Lake and the Missouri River system trophy areas where no walleye over 24 inches could be kept. Also, the limit of walleye should be 3 in those areas. There.

Well this is going to get interesting

The arrests are starting for real. Looks like they cleared the buildings and are now arresting people. However, most of the hippies escaped across the Cannonball River.
