    Buying gold and silver.

If inheriting, am I wrong to assume my son will get a stepped up cost basis at my death?

    Buying gold and silver.

Not sure this is entirely correct. Who the heck knows what my cost basis is/was if I paid in cash? I find it hard to believe how a person can be TAXED when the GOVT doesn't even know what a person paid for said commodity.

    Buying gold and silver.

For me personally, unless and until I need the money, I will just hold onto my holdings. Diversification.

    Insurance premiums on the rise

Hate to break it to you buddy, but you fell into the trap. Me thinks at least 50% of our population cannot afford these $80,90,100,000 vehicles. Perhaps I am wrong about you ..my apologies...but there is no way in hell all these ppl driving around in full size Denali's, Yukons, Suburbans...

    New ice fishing stuff

What does the peanut gallery think a person should get as far as a new auger is concerned? I currently have a 7ish inch kdrill paired with my Milwaukee, which works great for early and late ice..and a bullet proof 10in jiffy for my Zack Shak. I am in search of a better unit whilst hunting for...

    Rat issue

Have you tried the pickle bucket method? Not sure if it works for rats but it works for mice. To keep the smell down and/or if temps are freezing...use anti-freeze in the bottom of bucket versus straight water to drown the bastages when they fall in bucket.

    Seagull removal

Do you have to have the canopy? Serious question. We had a lake cabin in northern MN for a number of years with an older toon, mind you..on our lift..no canopy..just put the cover on the pontoon when we were not there. Never had a problem with seagull shit on the cover or goose scat on the dock...
