Personally, i would recommend mid July to late July. Halibut fishing can be really fun but it can also be a bust due to bad seas or just an off day. Rockfish are a blast to catch and is usually pretty easy to do, and doesn't require you to go 10 miles out in the ocean, or more. By far my favorite fishing up there is fishing for Kings. Caught a few 50 pounders up there and no other fish has ever made me smile and shake so much after a fight like that. Another easy thing to do is flip for reds on shore so you can knockout reds and kings in the same day.
