Message: <blockquote data-quote="raider" data-source="post: 153218" data-attributes="member: 353">good luck river, here's my story...  i have a friend that has a vape box and i started talking to him about it...  he used it to quit smoking a couple years ago and had nothing but good things to say about it, other than the cost...  he now rebuilds the heads and does all the higher end "cloud chasing" stuff...  i started doing some research and found a whole sub culture associated with it...  the reason i started this thread is just to see what other people think about it when they see it, and wondering if many "normal" people do it (not that any of you are normal<img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" />)...  i think it is a way for a lot of people to do a little herb in plain sight, so to speak, and it seems i'm not alone in that thinking...  but i also learned that it was a way people were getting off cigs...  i too tried the cig looking c-store ones over the last few years, but they were a pita, and wouldn't last very long...  bout 3 weeks ago i went to a local vape shop and bought an alien starter kit made by smok, along with a bottle of "juice" to give it a shot...  i smoked cigs during the day and played with the new contraption in the evenings, along with smoking cigs...  it is crazy how far these things have come from the old stick ones...  they are fully adjustable strength wise, have rechargeable batteries that last me 3+ days between charging, and a big enough juice "tank" to get me through 2 days of vaping...  i guess the biggest difference is how high the wattage will go in the newer ones...  to replace and mimic cig smoking i have mine set on 20 to 30 watts, when someone "cloud chasing" is rebuilding heads and has them set from 100 to 220 watts on unregulated boxes, which gets dangerous...  you can buy juice with different amounts of nicotine to match up what you've been smoking, all the way down to no nicotine at all...  you can also buy bout any flavor and mix any flavors you could imagine...  i'm puffing on huckleberry milkshake as i type...  i've smoked cigs since bout 1980...  2 packs a day for the past 30 years...  after messing around with this new toy for a couple weeks, i ran out of cigs last saturday and thought i'd give it a shot without them...  i've tried to quit more times than i can count, including with the old c-store e-cigs...  i haven't had a real cig since 3pm last saturday, and have no interest in smoking one...  i've gone from a $10 per day habit to a $1.25 per day habit...  my wife has smoked as long as i have, just not quite as much...  she asked me to pick up a kit for her, which i did last night...  she's now giving it a go...  this is not an endorsement for this stuff at this point, but i wouldn't smoke a real cig if someone handed me 1 right now...  i have no interest...  good luck all...</blockquote>
