Message: <blockquote data-quote="KDM" data-source="post: 77355" data-attributes="member: 314"><p>The .270 is more than capable of taking game at those distances.  I've personally seen 3 deer taken at over 500 yards with 130 gn bullets.  2 with Sierra BT and 1 with Nosler BT.  2 were Boom Flop and 1 went 40 yards.  Conditions for these shots were very good and the deer were broadside.  One caveat though:  MOST shooters are NOT capable of making these shots.  These deer were taken by a VERY experienced shooter and I would not have taken these particular shots as I'm not confident I could make a quick kill.</p></blockquote><p></p>
