Now lets look at the ones who generally don't participate in the active economy. Welfare deadbeats. Until we straighten that crap out all we are doing is punching ourselves in the balls. One can't happen without the other. We get all butthurt over some guy who might get paid under the table when we are approaching, and by some stats have eclipsed, 1/3 of our population that doesn't even plan on participating in any sort of workforce. Even worse all the things that make money change hands they get free from the taxpayer anyway. It's a drag that we might never free ourselves from. At the end of the day we are asking the government to stop doing things that make it powerful, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. Anyway back on topic what I would do if I had an opinion that mattered is give them 6 months. Post signs all over, rent billboards, commercials, etc saying if you are an illegal you need to check in and the government will give you a ID card as long as you can prove you have verifiable legit taxpaying employment. The same applies for the workers household, members also needing verification. After they do so they have another 6 months to complete the citizenship process. After that 6 months is up if they get caught without the proper credentials they go out on their ass. Like was said before if gun sellers can call a number and get a response in a couple minutes most things can be easily set up to verify legit credentials, we can ask them to verify for any government services, schools, welfare, bus, subway, amtrak, voting, property ownership, utilities...etc. Basically things almost all of us will need at some point Pressure must also be put on employers. If you hire someone you better get it checked out. If you have people living in/on your property you must get their IDs. We will also need a working enforcement system for these things, much easier said than done. The way I figure is there should be about 50,000 IRS agents that need something to do for a few years once they get laid off after we go to a sane flat tax code. Not perfect but we are actively cheering on our government to manage our entire economy, keep it up and we will all live in the same concrete apartment building.
