I was fine with what Brock was doing (even if I didn’t agree with it, we’re all entitled to our opinions).. until it got pushed to where it wasn’t just disagreeing it was more. Me going to bismarck to support something I believe in isn’t any different than him doing the same, but since he has NDBHA behind his name he’s a lobbyist and I’m a ballot box biologist. I’ve been accused multiple times of this just being about baiting and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I’ll continue to hunt and hunt pretty damn hard no matter what happens going forward no matter how I’m legally allowed and haven’t been able to bait in multiple years and it hasn’t stopped me from hunting. A root cause of this, and a lot of people know this about me, is my gripe with the big game department and others in the department on a multitude of fronts. I’ve been vocal about singing praises of the fishery and upland department, but at advisory board meetings I’ve brought up multiple topics to them for discussion and it’s almost always dismissed immediately because i don’t have some letters behind my name. I’ve also been told I want the department dismantled and that’s simply not true. As I state above I sing praises where praises are due, but have 0 problem stating concerns shared by me and many sportsmen and this is usually just dismissed even if multiples in the crowd speak in agreement or even disagreement. When one side is given a seat at the table with the department (not just NDBHA) and state they speak for X number of members of small town groups without actually asking what those members and clubs thoughts and stances are, that’s one big red flag for me. It’s actually why our family dropped membership to NDBA back in the day.
