Message: <blockquote data-quote="Ristorapper" data-source="post: 150623" data-attributes="member: 810"><p>Remember the door trim to your house and most garage entry doors is only 3/4 " thick.  you have 3/4 inch screws holding the plate that the deadbolt goes into.   Most 3 year olds can kick that door in.  Pull the 3/4" screws out and put 3 " screws into that plate where the deadbolt goes into.  That runs the screws into the 3/4" trim and into the studs trimmed around the door frame.  </p><p></p><p>Also not mentioned here is the ability of the thief to push the top of your garage door open far enough to reach your emergency pull cord with a wire and open your garage door that way.  Plenty of info if you google how to stop them from doing that.</p></blockquote><p></p>
