We took off late on Sat and got to our location around 3. Oldest decided he wanted to go out bow hunting, the other 2 wanted to do some pheasant hunting. The 2 youngest were able to bag their 1st pheasants. About 20 min to sunset, they said "lets go get the rifles and see if we can get our (youth) tags filled". Sure enough we found 3 in a food plot. both dropped within 50 yards. Thinking the oldest didn't have any luck we jokingly pulled up saying hey we have 2 in the back. He snarkly remarked, well we better add another. Sure enough 3 birds and 3 antlerless loaded Sat evening. Sunday we focused on pheasant. 7 for all on Sunday and we even caught about 10 walleye.

All in, the each got their 1st pheasants and the oldest got his 1st bow deer.

I was shacking my head the whole time. They are spoiled.

These are the best times of your life. Thanks for sharing. The sport is much more fulfilling when one stops caring about individual success and realizes greater joy from mentoring. For some; like ME, it took a "minute": Then, it's like a "switch flips".

In an "instant": :):( They'll want to put down their rod or gun to watch YOU in action. Be ready. Don't be old.

That is all.

Here's a "trick": When "it" happens; ask "What would YOU do "here"? This can affirm many things. :p
