I've been driving trucks since 2003...not nearly as long as some of you. When I began fishing, pulling small boats decided I needed one. Bought a new 2003 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 V6 - loved that freaking truck...zero issues. In 2011 bought a new Tacoma, 4 door, V6 - was ok, pulled fine but the ride sucked. Got a bigger boat and decided I needed a full size truck. Got a new 2014 F150 with the 5.0 - put 110K miles on it...zero issues. Then in 2021 got another F150 with the 5.0...they're great motors. In 2023 the wife and I got back in the camping business - decided I needed a 3/4 ton truck...assumed I'd get the F250 with the 7.3...drove 2 trim levels...XLT and Lariat...didn't like either. Went with the Chevy, 6.6/10 speed - 14 months with it...so far so good. Pulls 8K bumper pull very well, real test will come next year when we step up to a 5th wheel. The ride is crap in the Chevy - understand it's a stiff frame, but so far very impressed with the motor.
