That storm had a ton of wind but almost no snow on the ground so wasn't near as bad as it could have been but the emergency managers of Bismarck had to make a call on the news looking for people with snowmobiles to help get doctors to the aid of people who were having medical emergency. Ambulances couldn't get through due to all the snow on the road and all the vehicles stuck buried to their roofs in that same snow! the main road running around the capitol look like a flipping parking lot for days. Homes in north west mandan were buried to and in some cases above their roofs and more then one car got its driver side  remodeled when they brought in front end loaders to clear the streets that had 10 feet of snow in them.  the loader operators couldn't see the cars until they hit them. Point is we have allot of people that could get themselves in real trouble because they haven't seen or have forgotten the true Wrath that mother nature can dish out here in North Dakota even if your in town. A couple shots from 97 the mall shot should give you an idea why expressway didn't stay open and remember there was basically no snow before this storm hit!OH and don't mention the year 1966 or you will have the older guys show you some real crazy shit![ATTACH]9693[/ATTACH][ATTACH]9694[/ATTACH]This one may be from a different area it was claimed to be mandan and or somewhere in IA.
