Even though I prefer to shop locally, when you get an opportunity to buy something for $16K instead of $20k, I gotta take it.Back when I was shopping I looked at the Kioti/Bobcat line (Kioti made them for Bobcat). This was about the same time as Kioti and Bobcat were having a tiff and I eliminated them because I wasn't sure I'd be able to find parts or service.  I think they have it figured out now but I just haven't paid attention. The Kubota line-up is far improved over what they were 15 years ago, but I don't have any real experience with them. There are also the Cub Cadet series of compacts, they looked pretty good as well.I used <a href="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/index.php" target="_blank">http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/index.php</a> extensively to help me narrow down my search.  Lots of good people on there with real world experiences on any make/model you would be interested in.Truth be told, unless you were planning on using it commercially, I would really encourage you to go a little older and buy something used with yesteryear technology. I think the previous comments on the emissions technology highlight an unnecessary headache for us that use the machine 40-60 hours a year.- - - Updated - - -Note, for dirt work, I think I'd be looking at something bigger than a 2032 or 2038.  It's tough to replace the advantage of weight when dealing with virgin ground. They'd be great at spreading dirt that's been fluffed and delivered to your work site, but if you are digging...it will be slow going.</blockquote>
