Not that moose don't die due to the wolves, but that the population would be much higher and healthier overall if the amount of parasitic infections were lower, as they seem to think they were some 15-1500 years ago.  Remember, just because the cause of death is listed as wolf, that doesn't mean the moose wasn't weakened to the point it made it an easier meal for the wolves. In the second data set, the 18 wolf kills had 4 that were also weakened by parasites.  I think the DNR is saying that's the number they're worried about.</p></blockquote><p></p>
