Message: <blockquote data-quote="eyexer" data-source="post: 236283" data-attributes="member: 315"><p>what's really interesting is way back in 1989 I spent a few days up on Heckla Island.  It's on Lake Winnipeg a couple hours north of Winnipeg.  They had a really nice marina and numerous 40 plus foot boats docked there.  I went on over there and was bullshitting with the guy running the marina.  I said you must catch some pretty nice walleyes on this lake huh?  He looked at me really funny and said there isn't any walleyes in here.  People have tried to catch some but there just really isn't any.  I was rather taken by that.  Seemed like the perfect lake for them.  I'm guessing there just wasn't much effort put in to catch them on that big lake since fishing is so good on the smaller lakes and boats weren't very big for fishing walleye back then.</p></blockquote><p></p>
