At some point they bring a guy in with a bunch of doodads and test every room in the house to ensure maximum heating/cooling efficiency. Costs like $4000 on top of the cost of the nicer Minkota windows but then there's a $3500 tax rebate (thanks jerks!!) so it works out. Biggest thing for me is that we're going to have a bunch of south facing windows and the builder assures me that they're sound enough to not require any window coverings in winter and I can leave the blinds open without it getting drafty.
