Yes, especially in the damn winds that have been around here just about every time the toon has hit the water. Near as I can tell, it trolls at about 2.4-2.7 mph with no wind. A little too fast for spinners, but I can live with that while pulling cranks. It gets down to about 1.1-1.2 mph when backtrolling. On a side note, we did go to Beaver on Saturday. The wind was a whistling through the area and I decided to see what the toon could do in the open seas. I suppose we hit some waves that were a little over 3 ft, no problem whatsoever. Even gave her the onion and smoothly came back in with the wind and those waves at around 28-30 mph. I wouldn't want to be out in those conditions for very long though, going straight into or with the waves was one thing, going at an angle or cross-wise to the waves might loosen a few nuts and bolts or break something. - - - Updated - - - Hmm, I don't remember what brand it was. I just looked at their webpage and didn't see it. It was on the west side of their lot, all the way to the north. Black in color. - - - Updated - - - I think they would have regrets about losing some nimbleness. I tried putting the pontoon into some stuff that I would have easily been able to fish with my Lund. Maybe I need a little more practice, but it's a lot more challenging for the small drifts on the river.
