I have a predicament, I have little trust in either side of this issue. First off there is no denying that CWD is real. Second none of us know the true magnitude of the danger. The Wind Cave actions Fritz posted is absolutely incompetent. Its little different than the high fence operation in Minnesota who had a tree fall on his fence releasing his infected herd just days before they were scheduled to be destroyed. Do nothing is unacceptable. Completely banning a long standing tradition spawns distrust. Hard to enforce is often the excuse given for not restricting the size in bushels of bait sites which would be a good start. Since when do Americans give up freedom because it's difficult. It's only reasonable that five pounds per day that only attracts a couple of does and fawns and a buck or two isn't going to spread disease like a 100 bushel feed lot that attracts 200 deer from miles around. Have people not heard of compromise? Our last administration and the National Health Organization have created a lot of mistrust in science, and I have a lot of that mistrust myself so I surely understand the mistrust. I don't trust the high fence operations with profits involved, I don't trust arm chair biology, I don't trust much of the science because like the FBI the left has also weaponized it. I don't like hearing biologists disagree with the data and telling statisticians go back and massage the data. I don't like biologist mskeing dumb ass statements like we shoukd not wear camo in public because it creates a bad image. What a crock of crap. If we want to actually get somewhere on this issue it will require as much effort in rebuilding trust as science to solve the issue.
