This is spot on. I recall this same discussion from many years back. And someone said “if you want the benefits of ND and the outdoors then move here and live here instead of expecting a cheap nonresident license” fast forward to today and I know quite a few people from other states who have moved here and are melting into the culture of lifestyle of ND. Whenever you ask why they chose ND They always say because of the outdoor opportunities. How many tax dollars are spent locally by a relocated family as opposed to a group spending a couple hundred every year? What is the economic impact on small towns when a few families move into the community as opposed to catering to a revolving door of strangers here on vacation? The tourism dept wants to sell tickets to the circus while what we should be focusing on is coming here for the lifestyle. Double the NR license cost and leave the resident license as is.
