Every thanksgiving we'd head for Paul Bunyan State forest in MN, set up camp and then hunt the black powder season for a week. The first few years i went, it was ass deep snow and cold as hell; but it was worth it getting to hear the old timers' stories every night. Unfortunately, most of our camp has passed on now; and it got to be too much work for not enough reward. The last few years we pulled campers up there.</p><p></p><p>I am glad i wasn't old enough to experience the first few years when they stayed in a teepee with a fire ring. Apparently, no matter how many cords of wood you burn its still cold and miserable.</p></blockquote><p></p>
