One day my son was playing football and my daughter was across the playground with some other kids. Evidently she took some boys cap and he knocked her down trying to get it back from her. I think my son was in 5th grade and she was in 3rd. Anyway my son saw this kid knock her down and ran full sprint across the playground and tackled this kid, evidently from behind because it took a good bit of skin off the kids chin and cheek when he hit the ground. I got called in to talk to the principal because the other kid was injured (slightly), and his parents were upset about it. It was funny cuz my son was in the office, and the principal explained to me what happened, and how it was a misunderstanding and how my son should stop and ask questions before resorting to physical violence, even when defending someone you love, etc. Then the principal asked my son to go wait in the hall and after the door was shut, he told me that my son would have to miss recess for a couple days, but then he laughed and made a comment basically saying, "we cannot encourage behavior like this, which could end up in someone getting injured, but if I had a son and daughter the same age, and something like this happened, I would expect my son to do the exact same thing your son did, defending his younger sister...."</p></blockquote><p></p>
