I started chewing regularly at around 14. Never had a problem getting booze or chew. I'm not saying to remove age limits on stuff, just saying that it's pretty easy to get "illegal" substances as kids.  I tried it a few times in high school.  Wasn't for me and the crowd was kinda all deadbeats. It was the same in college. My eyes were really opened when I moved to a place where it's always essentially been legal. We have pot shops all over the place and the people you see walking in and out of them are all kinds.  Plenty of people in business suits and scrubs coming through the doors. Plenty of 40 year old dead beats too that still have the same amount of responsibilities as they did when they were a 15 year old pot head in their parent's basement.  My wife is a physical therapist and says over half her patients use pot regularly and you'd never guess the ones that do. Most guys I know have it at the top of their backpack hunting list.  I never used MJ until recently.  I'm 35. Went through some serious shit in March 2021 and had to see and experience some rough stuff. Did good staying away from booze because I knew how slippery that slope is. Refused any type of prescription meds that would just cause other problems.  I take small amounts of pot periodically. Maybe once or twice a week. Hardly ever get "high". Just like 5 mg to take the edge of life off every so often.  It has been great for me personally and I'm glad there was a non-addictive solution with essentially no side effects.  Feel bad for folks in others states that don't have that option.  I could honestly argue from a million different angles both ways.  I used to be pretty anti pot so I know all the arguments that way. At this point I'm pretty open minded and just trying not to be a hypocrite.  When I look back at some of my arguments against pot while drinking 5 days a week, I'd say I was going down that hypocrite road.</blockquote>
