Any way you slice it and dice it, booze will take the title over any other substance I know about. Then, since I wasn't specifically talking about fatalities, let's throw in financial burden, societal burden, medical burden, and burdens of all types that comes from job loss, illnesses and injuries, accidents, failed marriages, failed parenting, violence, etc. that all stem from alcohol use. Don't get me wrong, I love ice cold beer and tall frosty drinks. I'm actually having one right now.But alcohol is the substance abused the most by far by people whose lives subsequently go into a tail spin, and often they take others down with them in the process.However, as far as fatalities, if you want statistics pertaining to the U.S. they are very easy to find because death records are kept.</blockquote>
