Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mr. Pike" data-source="post: 455102" data-attributes="member: 7914"><p>Bought a 300 ah 12 volt lithium battery to run my Minnkota Power Drive 55 lb thrust trolling motor.  Was looking at Minnkota's website, and it says that lithium batteries have too high of voltage for their brushed motors and not to run them at full power, but rather at 8.5 speed.  I know the voltage on the lithium reads 13.2 volts at rest and the Interstate lead acid ones that I used to have read 12.7.  The battery that I bought is called an e-Lektech and has a built in BMS (battery management system). It ended up costing me $388 with shipping.  A new Interstate Battery would have been about $194 for a Group 31.  Lithium batteries are suppose to last twice as long as lead acid, so hopefully it will pay off in the long run.</p></blockquote><p></p>
