The 360 imaging seems pretty similar to Humminbird's. The motorized pole seems neat, but I don't know about $2000 neat. If you have the cash to put the whole system together, it would be pretty cool, but these prices nowadays are staggering.

I think I'll be sticking with what I have, but it's always neat to see the latest and greatest.

I've wanted to do a DIY motorized pole by taking an older auto-pilot trolling motor, removing the head, and mounting the transducer on the pole. Open water I could independently control the direction Livescope is pointed and potentially use the auto-pilot feature to keep it pointed in the direction I want while the boat drifts, turns, etc. Just haven't gotten around to it yet!

I'd be curious as to how this would work for you.

I expected something better than this from Garmin. Not that it's a bad product, but I just don't see the benefit to what I already have and how I fish. If anything, it's the start to them building a 3D, 360, live sonar.

Alot of the rumors are speculating that they did this in order to be able to stay in the market for NON-FFS tournaments as they didn't have the 360-sonar available. Judging by Lowrance's Ghost360 drop, I would say they felt the same way. However, at 3199.99, I would have really hoped for a 50 something inch shaft to support the deep-v crowd. It seems like a failed attempt at engineering and a SKU headache to only allow for 2 shaft sizes that are only 7" apart. But I suppose, you ask a bass fisherman if they know what 7" looks like and they will say they have never seen anything that big :ROFLMAO: jkjk
