Message: <blockquote data-quote="db-2" data-source="post: 295100" data-attributes="member: 4743"><p>Allem:</p><p>I assume you are with a bigger bank if they can afford a ATM manager.</p><p></p><p>In the last forty plus years i have been associated with 9 different banks, all small town with the owners living in town.</p><p>I can say with 99% certain that once they got the checks out of the machine they could of then completed the deposit in this day and age with electonic equipment.  If not, a call to whoever to get the checks rewritten or have that place by the phone transfer funds.</p><p>It was up to your bank to take care of this.</p><p></p><p>So now after 28 years it is totaly acceptabale even if it had only been one day of being with them.</p><p>Yes, it is time to move but if the move is to a corp. bank do not expect it any better.  db</p><p></p><p><span style="color: silver"><span style="font-size: 9px">- - - Updated - - -</span></span></p><p></p><p>Allen:</p><p>to update.</p><p></p><p>When one deposits checks into ones account as a deposit the bank takes the numbers off the bottom and then runs it by phone.</p><p>The bank then takes that check you deposited and puts it in the vault and after 6 months sheds that check themselves.  The deposited check never leaves your bank.</p><p>So if they could still read the numbers (routing, account number and amount) that is all they needed to make your deposit good.  If they can not read a call will confirm those numbers.</p><p>At least that is how it is handled at the banks I have had a relationship with and all banks do it the same.  db</p></blockquote><p></p>
