I’ve always been a shore/fly fisherman but after living in Williston for 16 years I said screw it and picked up a nice Skeeter for my family. I’ve never owned or fished from a boat and even though we haven’t caught anything yet(mainly because the kids get bored trolling) it’s still been a good time and I know as soon as we figure out how to catch walleye they’ll be loving it

See yall on the water!

New town area, and south has been producing lots of nice 16-20 inch eaters. Try crawlers in about 20-25 FOW with just a slow death, or a plain hook and small bead behind a bouncer.

If nothing else, like most new fishermen, just look for the crowd of boats, they are there for a reason.

Good luck

Those crawler rigs are a solid way to keep the kids involved too, way less staring at a trolling rod waiting for something to happen. The boat crowd can be a dead giveaway, especially on unfamiliar water.
