- The harvest of antlerless white-tailed deer in deer gun units 3C, 3E1, 3E2 and 3F2 shall be prohibited. This restriction includes all license types (youth, muzzleloader, deer gun, deer bow and gratis). Antlerless white-tailed deer gun licenses for those units are no longer valid and hunters who hold those licenses will automatically be refunded.
First half makes it sound like all, second half contradicts itself.
Boy, I don't know how people are having trouble comprehending this paragraph...
The harvest of whitetail does is prohibited in those units. If you hold a youth tag, deer bow tag, or a gratis tag, you still have (at a minimum) the option of shooting a mule deer doe with those tags. HOWEVER, YOU CAN'T SHOOT A WHITETAIL DOE WITH THAT TAG THIS YEAR. So, they aren't going to just automatically refund you for your tag... because you have other options (muleys or bucks) to hunt with those tags.
If you have a deer gun tag for a whitetail doe in those 4 units... you previously could only shoot a whitetail doe. However, since you can no longer shoot a whitetail doe, that tag is not usable. So they'll automatically refund you because your tag is no longer valid.
This is a good move by the Governor and the NDGF. Gov. Armstrong is doing positive things by breaking the "this is the way we have always done it" mentality and actually getting involved to cause some positive change.
