He saw antlers and thought it was a deer, so he shot twice.</strong></p><p> <strong>He told officers glare from the sun and tree cover made it hard to see the animal. He texted another member of his hunting party saying, he messed up and shot a moose.</strong></p><p> If a person cannot correctly identify something this different then they need to get punished accordingly by the states laws, if you are ok with not 100% identifying a target and just letting a bullet fly then I darn sure don't want to be anywhere near you with a gun. I'm sure he isn't going to get hung too bad, especially if he turned himself in learning his mistake later but he needs to get punished.
