Some committed to jail for their beliefs.</p><p>But for many of us, we answered the call and went.  We were American soldiers and did what we were trained to do.  LBJ added 500,000 of us to that conflict and 59,000 plus did not survive. And there were some (1,500) we never heard from again.  Your guess is as good as any as to their fate.</p><p>Please take a moment to reflect on those and all who serve.  </p><p>As with all soldiers, we did what we believe was right at the time and that was to serve.</p><p>So today, offer a beer and a welcome home to those that made it and are still here.
