As an educator I have dealt with well over a thousand students so yes, some of them were gay. Some of them you suspected long before you knew. Some of them not until later in life. Did that change my opinion of them from what I knew of them as students? Not one time. They didn't change at all, the difference is always in how we as humans decide to treat others.The next issue is what are you going to do if one of your children tell you they are gay? Dismiss them from your life? If you love your children you love them as they are. Some will say it's a choice gay people make. Possibly but for what reason? Why would anyone want to go through all that turmoil if they had a choice? The choice would be far easier to live in a heterosexual relationship.Gay people don't bother me. LGBT groups don't bother me, it's a way for gay people to learn more about themselves. Big celebrations such as "Coming Out Day" make me wonder about the need and purpose. Oh hell, maybe I don't understand it but for them it might be about as exciting as it will be for me the next time I draw a "deer tag."</blockquote>
