I was the lucky one. I quit because my friends were destroying themselves. </p><p></p><p>I've seen the bottle and the damage done.</p><p></p><p>Now my friends and I enjoy life and coffee. The drama is over. Life is good.</p><p></p><p>I still drink a beer every month or so. We stay away from bars and don't miss them. </p><p></p><p>We still laugh about some of the stupid things we did.</p><p></p><p>Luckily we are all still alive. I knew several that aren't.  It really sucks when you realize that your lifestyles are killing you.</p><p></p><p>Moderation. It's a plan.</p></blockquote><p></p>
