I need a bit of assistance here fellas. These two gems were in an auction lot I purchased and have no idea what they are or what they are supposed to be used for. They are heavy steel with one end being solid and the other end moves up and down the notched part and are hinged in the middle. Thanks in advance.

What is a ladder jack?
I think they are missing a comma and are talking to a fella named jack…

“It is a ladder, jack.” Is how it should be written.

Nothing like crawling up 20 feet on a ladder and then boosting and balancing yourself on a plank.

I don't even like going up tall wiggly ladders, No way in hell I'd use that.
