Message: <blockquote data-quote="MSA" data-source="post: 27745" data-attributes="member: 193"><p>They're pretty wore out by the time they hit the beach, and they are a lot like crocs, they have blind spots and ways to hold em so they cant reach you with those jaws.</p><p></p><p>My last attempt was blown out by 7 days of hard south winds from the gulf, I only had one good run on the big rod until the circle hook let go after 20 seconds.  The trip before that I underestimated the power of my target and I had too small of a rod/reel combo and watched about 700 yards of 100lb test burn off into the gulf, and almost got bit by a 7' bull shark that chased a ladyfish in I had on my line while I was a hundred yards out and waist deep in the water.  </p><p></p><p>I'm hoping I have used up all my bad luck and will land a true sea monster this September.</p></blockquote><p></p>
