We had a pastor once that chewed me out for not being in church every Sunday. I asked him where I was closer to God, could appreciate the creations of God, could find a spiritual connection to God, sitting in a church pew beside people that would screw you over for a dollar on Monday or sitting with a dog beside a slough waiting for a flock of northern green heads to cup their wings? On the back of a horse, tagging a new born calf as geese flew over and the first robins of spring were sounding off as the warmth of the spring sun soaked into ones back, where would I better see and feel and know Gods grace and the miracles of what he can do. Having said that, we also had a different pastor after that who I will always regret not sitting in a pew listening to him share his faith more than I did. I am a poor Christian, I fail almost daily, but I have a strong faith. I do not deny my God nor my faith to others nor do I believe I have to model my faith in others eyes to achieve what my faith will provide my soul once we depart his world. I have yet to meet a man who knows the true nature and intent of a another mans soul, only God and that man truly do. My personal ideology on my faith and life comes from advice given me a long time ago. At the end of the day, look in the mirror and ask the person you see if you lived your life as good as you could have that day. NEVER lie to the person looking back from the mirror. Understand some days the honest answer will be no, and when it is, accept that day is done and tomorrow lies ahead and try your best to live your life so you can answer yes more than no. Some days it is hard to answer honestly. But my faith is that God understands and at the end of the run, my fate will be determined how he believes I lived my life, not how others on this earth think I did.
