I was arguing on X recently with a fairly prominent medical doctor and some of her cronies about this. She wants to insist medicine is not just knowledge but its also an "art" and I was trying to explain how wrong she is. Pretty much all high knowledge type jobs are at risk, especially jobs in computer and medical fields. Of course new jobs will be created, but not nearly on a 1:1 basis, Im guessing more like 1:10... Its hard for many people to comprehend how revolutionary this technology will be. People just cannot grasp what an AI vastly more intelligent than humans might become or facilitate. I was listening to a podcast a month or so ago and someone active in AI land was talking about how he feels that 100% there will be wars fought over AI. Right now, AI is already easily able to pass all professional exams that humans take to get advanced certifications/licenses.AI like Gronk3 and robots are going to replace a LOT workers sooner than we think.
