Put the canister someplace cold like freezer or snowbank for 15min , next step screw in adapter and tighten into room temp 20# propane tank  then screw in 1# coleman canister to the female adapter end tighten down next step turn 20# tank upside down and slowly open valve. You can hear it fill, shut valve off when you hear nothing. Then set upright and unscrew 1# tank. Warning do this outside. Picked up my adapter at scheel for 20 buck instructions included. Saves me a ton of money since i usually fill 6 or more at a time. Stay Safe.</p></blockquote><p></p>
