Wolf Hounds. (gst) The story was told to me back in the 1950. A neighbor friend's grand parents had wolf hounds to catch rabbits and foxes and whatever. When I was young one neighbor also had wolf hounds and he would use them and his snow plane (home made) to hunt with. My dad would tell me stories when he was young (1900) and seeing wolves and other animals no longer around. One time as a young lad he was left with a lasting experience when a wolf came up to the barn. Anyways, one day this guy's hounds came up on a pack of wolves and gave chase. Wolves went in various direction and so did the hounds. He was left with only a couple of hounds after the chase and they were in no condition to keep on living. No dead wolves. The story has always been with me since my older sister would read the story about that girl in red going to see her grandma across the river when I was little. You know in the original story the wolf did eat the grandma before its head was chopped off (at least that is how I remember my sister telling the story. I think the girl was ate to, been to long and am not sure of how she told the story). But now and then I think about it. db - - - Updated - - - And then some say they cut the wolf open and put stones in the body and then he runs and dies from the stones. How far out can one get in changing a story.? db
