On almost every project the initial design comes from all the wants/needs of staff. Then the architect adds all the fancy stuff (they get paid a percentage of the construction cost so the more they can make it cost the more they make). The first cost estimate always comes in over budget so cuts have to be made. They never cut the fancy stuff or the "public" spaces of the building (admin, lunch room, auditorium, gym, etc); always the square footage of the teaching spaces. Then the project gets built and 3 -5 years later they are complaining the school is too crowded and want to go out for a referendum to build another school.</p></blockquote><p></p>
