I have thrown money into training and countless hours into fetching techniques with him. He will retrieve pheasants most of the time no problem, but ducks, geese or anything else not a chance. I still bring him along and I still ask him to fetch it up knowing full well I will be out there grabbing the duck. I am not sure what happened this weekend but after 5 years a lightbulb clicked on. He grabbed every duck we shot and dropped it at my feet, even the winged ones. My last dog was great but, I waited until 4 years after he died to get another one. With my current pup being 5 years old, that is 9 years since I have had a retriever! I am crossing my fingers that this is the norm now. If not he made my weekend!</p></blockquote><p></p>
