Before that, Hiltner said, Game and Fish stocked tiger muskies in 1991 and throughout most of the late 1980s."I wouldn't expect to see many more catches of tigers, as they are getting old," Hiltner said. In an email.Jim Job, district game warden in Devils Lake, said people fishing next to the angler who caught the fish called him about the muskie to ask about the minimum length measured it at 48½ inches on the ice.North Dakota law requires immediate release of muskies less than 48 inches long.Job, who took possession of the fish Tuesday, said Thursday said he was waiting for the muskie to thaw so he could get an official measurement."It's real close to 48 inches," Job said.The angler who caught the muskie was fishing northern pike and gaffed the fish, not knowing Devils Lake had tiger muskies, Job said. Given the circumstances, Job said he wasn't sure if the angler would face charges if the muskie measures less than 48 inches.The angler will be able to keep the fish if it's 48 inches or longer, Job said.</blockquote>
