Livetohuntandfish unfortunately that's the world we live in today. Everyone is treating others with less respect than we did 20 years ago. I had my grandson in the Badlands deer hunting. He had his buck down a half mile from the road, and I just had a Stent in my heart three days before. We drove into a ranch yard to ask about the entrance to the trail 200 yards from the deer. The gate into the yard was posted, but we were not hunting, only driving to his house. The fellow came in behind at a very high rate of speed. He asked if we were F blindI explained we were not hunting only looking for information from a local. He said if I wanted to talk to him call then he could not answer. I explained why I wanted to get closer to the deer and he said he didn't care if I F died. His face was red and he was shaking like a mad man. We left and parked along the road to get ready for the pack out. Here his white Escalade comes flying up the road. With my grandson along I worried about this guy. Where he could not see me I jacked a round into my conceased 9mm. As we met he apologised and said he over reacted. He explained that the power company had an easement to drive off the road and that was the trail we seen. He said we could use his son in laws four wheeler. I thanked him but declined driving off the trail even to retrieve on gov land. In the end I guess there were no hard feelings on either side, but it sure was crazy for a couple of minutes. You are right hunters and farmers need each other, but this trespass bill is hatred of hunters because it will have no affect on protestors. The respect has become so lacking that I worry that a landowner will give permission, then call the warden and say he did not.
