Holy trip chill out. This little dance with eye goes back to a discussion about property tax. Not who is making what off what but what those property taxes pay for. The legislature quite a while back decided to try and create a formula where no one group of people were paying more than their "fair share" when it comes to the taxes that pay for a variety of things in our communities. Ya farmers get property tax breaks on their homes, they also pay a substantial tax burden on other lands. Those property taxes of every one pay for a lot of the same things in different communities. Go to a rural school and see what percentage of funding comes from rural property taxes versus urban property tax. So should I pay for more of your kids education simply becasue I make monies off the lands that are taxed? What if I am using those monies to hire you and pay you a wage? What if the monies off those lands pay your wage at the implement dealer allowing you to own that home? How much do you want to tie to that profit made off those lands? Nice little jab with the prevent plant deal, but maybe you ought to crunch the numbers abit to see just how much of a burden it would ease, you might be surprised. Oh hey the subsidies....never met a farmer yet that buries them in a jar in the back yard. Those new pickups guys like pg and eye whine about who is really being subsidized when the dollars flow thru one account into another...........what does the Chevy dealer go out and buy with those subsidy dollars he gets for the pickups he sells? Who does he hire? But then they are not really farm subsidizes but rather a food security program for this nation which YOU receive every time you go to the grocery store...I wish I could get a ROI on my investment in farming YOU get on your tax dollar you pay to the nations food security program................want to get rid of them....I'm right there with ya, we can raise most every bit of food we need so I really won;t be impacted by rising food costs or shortages of certain commodities. but hey lets throw the typical rhetoric out there and then wonder why some farmers get tired of jack asses that claim it is THEIR wildlife and they have a "right" to hunt it on others lands and spout off like the fools they are.........and what does that get you? Does it really make you feel better? Push the pendelum with stupid rhetoric like what eye spouts.......should be a couple sessions before this bill pops up again. Jeesh.
