Out mowing my yard on Wednesday before the rain, I was sadly disappointed to see what I think is the hatch of the midges that carry EHD. There were millions of the little buggers in the tall grass nearest my pond.

Another outbreak like two years ago will extirpate the WT locally.

Wasn't that outbreak quite a bit earlier in the season ?

I had at least one set of triplets hanging out at my place this summer.

Last evening, I drove from Napoleon to Lincoln just after sunset. I saw 6 deer total, two does east of Hazelton about 10 miles, a small WT buck just south of Moffit on 83, a young but pretty nice muley buck west of Moffit near the highway offset corners, and 2 wt does near Maclean bottoms.

I thought they should have stopped does tags for a couple years in the hard hit
areas. I believe they still have depredation tags in the Apple creek wildlife area
