    East End Lake Sakakawea

I'm wondering how far west a guy needs to go to find a consistent bite? I have not been to the big lake this year, but am looking at heading up there this coming weekend. I just don't hear anything about the east end. It is a much closer drive for me.

    Coal Lake

Has anyone used the new boat access at Coal Lake? If so how is it? I have never been there, but am thinking about trying it this weekend.

    Tagged Walleye Slow Growth Rate

Dean, My brother in-law operates a fish farm and by the end of year one most walleyes are 9 inches with plenty of food. Year two fish are around 15 inches and in the third year around 19 inches. Keep in mind this is with optimal food and no other predators in the growing ponds.

    Tagged Walleye Slow Growth Rate

Caught a tagged walleye this week in Beaver Bay on Oahe. The fish was released last April in Beaver Bay. It was 16 inches when released and 17 inches when I caught it. That seems like a slow growth rate to me in a year?

    Oahe/Sakakawea

The weather looks to be warming up over the next four days. I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on where to try this upcoming weekend. I have heard of a few fish getting caught around Beaver Bay on Oahe and it is possible that this warming trend could get things going. The east end was...

    East End Lake Sakakawea

I am hearing reports of a good bite on the east end. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm am thinking of heading up there next weekend as the river south of Bismarck is crazy with boats.

How many walleye have you caught?

The boat is at 160 in 30 trips. The river around Bismarck was amazing all spring and Lake Oahe has been amazing since late May. The east end of Lake Sakakawea has really been the only disappointment this year.

    East End Lake Sakakawea

So were the last three years a fluke? I looked into my log books and we caught and released 50 walleyes over 20 inches from the last two weeks in May until June 10. Jake G., I don't fish unless I am marking fish on the Lowrance; by driving around and seeing no fish on my electronics I knew the...

    East End Lake Sakakawea

I could not mark any fish today. I tried fishing for about an 1.5 hours and gave up. I talked to three other boats they all had the same result. Also, i observed very minimal boating activity on the big lake, most boats were on Audobun. Does anyone have any answers or when do think the bite will...

    East End Sakakawea

I saw some pictures of some nice fish caught on the Big Lake last weekend. I believe action on the East End of Sakakawea has started. I will be heading up this weekend and will post my report. Did anyone else hear anything about the big lake last weekend? Temps look to be in the low 70s for Wed...

    East End Sakakawea

If you guys were me would you take a shot on it this weekend or would you stay in the Bismarck area? Limits have been fairly easy on the river, however, the draw of bigger fish is strong:) Also, I just really like fishing the humps by the embankment.
