    what we do is fish a spot and mark on GPS, and move every 30 mins if no fish. Do this till h you got a seris of holes. then go back and refish the old holes,hoping to find a school. this cuts down on having to drill new holes all the time

    Camping in the Badlands

    I just flew from deadwood to custer and surrounding areas in helicopter. Was amazed at all down timber due to pine beatle. Be ready to step over a lot of logs. Have a good hunt!

    we flew the badlands the other day in helicopter, and the amount of down timber in most due to the pine beetle was unreal. Gonna make packing in a few miles a real chore. Good luck

    Beaver bay

    went on last weekend at Cattail. fished about half ways to Langliers in the middle by the main channel. Caught a nice limit. Ice was good everywhere we went, getting on will be the next problem. we were in rangers.

    One little trick we use when using smelt is to use a treble hook with 2 barbs in smelt and stack 2or3 minnows on exposed hook. Seems to give alittle action to bait and smelt sits level in water. Works really well
