Our fight is on going, actually I'm surprised we have'nt had blood shed over this issue by now,the entire mille lacs community is upside down as they rely on on tourism and most have lost everything and the ones left, well barley making ends meet, mean while the tribe is snactching up all the forclosed property they can with casino $$$ so one day they will have full control of the lake much like the red lake nation.

the bad rep thing has to go away ---- are you actually using that system V for anything.

I am nuetral on the slots -- let it be clear what they are --- especially Muskie slots on Devils lake. I am still grumbling about a state that doesnt allow spearing in all musky lakes ---- EXCEPT devils lake!!!!

deleted post it was getting bad rep . You all won't see another report from me if this is what you think is bad rep worthy good bye. And who ever gives bad rep and your comment is "idiot" your moma didn't rais you right go slap her in the face

I wouldn't have given bad rep or called you an idiot, but this subject has kinda been beat to death here in the past. No slots has been the most common reply. I mean it looks like you've been on this site awhile and should have seen prior posts of the same subject.

I'd rather see time and $$ spent on fighting ANS like WY has. Your boat can't touch their water until a game warden has ensured there's no ANS liquid/debris on your boat, motor, or trailer, then you're given a permit/pass.

From the WY G&F site:

While we're at it, If your boat is found to have potential ANS liquid/material, you're denied entry and must immediately exit ND with the potentially contaminated craft.

You so realize that about 90% of all boats would be tuned away don't you???

http://gf.nd.gov/magazines/may-2013/weighing-effects-length-limits

The above article does a good job of explaining each. I fish a lake in W SD that has a slot. Lake was a minimum length lake but changed to a slot. It gets a ton of pressure and harvest. The slot has been good for fishing but not so much for those who like to keep fish. We now have a year class just under the slot that is providing take home fish. But, by this summer most will be in the slot.

There is way more than what we think that goes into it. Think about hooking mortality. Think about the impact one or two big fish has in the whole system. And the list goes on and on....

I leave it up to the professionals. I have fished lakes that have had minimum length, slots, and one over rules and have disliked and like each in certain cases. Just depends too much on the lake....

Just remember we left it up to the experts at G&F with the whitetail herd as does were over harvested for years and than along with a bad winter the population plummeted.

in favor of slots. whoever said its proven not to work has never fished south Dakota! Plus fishing up by Bismarck would be shit for big fish if south Dakota didn't have a slot. that's proven

I one thing I now for a fact is COE is the one thing that dictates how the big/many fish are in the system. Not slots or limits as long as they are not stupid. I've did the catch and release thing for alot of years. I can't understand the greed thing. If you have a freezer full of fish Why would you want more? bragging rights (take a Picture)! I started keeping track of how many fish I catch in a year for 4 years what i seen was crazy amount. Thats why i start to c and r myself. I let alot of fish go, personally for me a 20 inch fish is not as good to eat as a 14 to 17 fish is. If you think a 25> fish is good to eat (NO) old and nasty fish, fun to catch (yes) I've got to the point i fill guilty cleaning a big fish. If you like keeping 25+ fish good for you knock yourself out they are getting old anyway. besides all it takes to make the pig fish to go away it the COE not you.

Slots are overrated all those big pigs is eat more juvenile fish. I would rather catch 100 plus eye balls all day. Catching big pigs is a bonus catch so if you want 25inch go to LOW, winne,or any of the other lakes that produce big pigs. My tax dollars and license fees goes to a good use and that is to keep my lakes stocked so I can catch 100+ eyeballs all day. That's a fact

your wrong i live here and the only reason we have the one over 20 slot is political pressure and the coe controls if we have fish or not in oahe
