Here in Payson it is snowing like gang busters. Guessing 8-9 inches already light wind/breeze 28 degrees.
Weather update from local radio station said from now thru Saturday 27''-36'' of snow more than likely. Flakes are big as half dollar.
One nice thing about here it will be gone by middle of next week if not sooner. Can't complain they need the moisture!
They were talking of it ending on Friday evening or so but now talking Saturday sometime.
Don't mind the snow and don't get the wind, cold, humidity like we got in NoDak. Don't miss that one bit especially after all my surgeries and being an old geezer!

I'm at 7000' 45 miles south of the Grand Canyon, NO desert here.

They closed the Grand Canyon, Hwy 64 (my road), Interstate 40, Interstate 17, Hwy 89, Hwy 89A, SR 260 and SR 87 along with some other road in the state. It's a nice little storm, so far I have 16" of snow with 3' drifts and it's still snowing hard. :;:smokin

Be safe, stay warm, and enjoy some whiskey or whatever your choice of adult beverage is for the next few days!

Desert is about 10 miles south of Payson. We have pine trees and scrub brush and the littler cactus (don't know their names) here in Payson. Kind of a little desert look with pine trees. Really neat and not what comes to your mind about AZ. We are about 15-20 degrees cooler than the valley (Phoenix). I am at 5,000 feet.
Elk and Javelina's in town.

LOL, yup I grew up in CO at 9000' and used that trick more than once growing up.

So far I have 27" in the yard, 4' drifts and it's still snowing a little bit. I think it's great, we need all the moisture we can get.
