One stat that I would like to see is the % of tags in each unit that go to gratis (unless you're in 2E where we know it's 100%). I usually put in for 2B which is a huge unit. However, if every quarter section gets a gratis it's no wonder those tags are impossible to draw. I wish the G&F would release that info.

I have 1 point for rifle and 0 for muzzy. I forgot to put in for muzzy 2 years in a row and lost my 4 points...otherwise I'd have 6 (facepalm!).

All of the gratis information is available on the application. It shows how many were available then the second column is the number of tags available after gratis.

I sat down and run the numbers and I think you got about the same chance to draw one of big 3 as a muzzy buck tag.;:;banghead

2 for rifle and 4 for muzzy. I'm screwed for about 4 more years for both tags. Good thing for the bow tag.

4 for rifle, 9 for muzzleloader, 3 for antelope. Been a lot of bowhunting for me the last few years. Sad thing is, I have not even been applying for badlands Muley tags. I really hope to be one of those a-holes that has 3 buck tags this year. :) j/k as I wouldn't have enough time off anyways

Nada. Drew a buck tag last year. But that's ok. I got people to help with their elk and I'm telling you, this is my year for the bighorn tag.

6 rifle, 5 muzzy, 1 speed goat.

Doesn't matter how many points you have. I've been turned down for the last five or six years. They're going to give the tags to who they want. And after gratis right now there are little to no tags left anyway. At least in most zones.

so you have 4 or 5 points, what unit do you apply in?

5 points for rifle in a predom. whitetail unit. 5 for muzzy. If I don't get drawn this year for my rifle unit I'll be going to apply for mule deer out west.

One way to improve your muzzy draw would be to eliminate the in-lines ( basically a single shot rifle ) and go back to all traditional muzzies that would drop a lot of guys out of the picture.

2 deer
6 muzzy
2 speed goat
30 + moose
30 + Elk
30 + Bighorn

Was going to say none since I drew a buck last year then remembered I got a point to go with it as well. One as well for muzzle loader so I'm a decade out on that one.

They know the shit storm that would cause and what it would do to landowner-hunter relations.
